Noughts & Crosses
Simplest of ideas and very easy set up. A piece of cardboard, some stones and a pen. Perfect for encouraging shared play, developing problem solving skills and patience. Lots and lots of play, over and over again. Enjoy! 🎉0️⃣❌0️⃣❌
Leaf Mini Beasts
Following on from my popular 'leaf friends' post in October, I decided to rethink the idea and incorporate it into this seasons learning. Wonderful opportunity to go out and about collecting leaves. Children making choices about the leaves they like and explaining why. An opportunity to support mini beasts investigation and a great fine motor activity as the children pick up, stick their leaves and then add their pen detail. Brilliant fun, lots of learning, lots of engagement! 🍂🍀🌿🕷️🦋🐞
Pointilism Trees
If you're looking for an end of year creative activity, this is great. I printed a tree template and the children created their own pointilism trees using cotton buds. Calming, great for focus and a brilliant fine motor activity. All of our trees were different and all were just perfect! 🎨🌳
Summer Suncatchers
We enjoyed making these and they look so pretty hanging in the windows - sunlight beaming through. Use whatever you have in the garden or maybe go on a 'treasure' hunt. Great for strengthening those little hands, to be creative and to develop focus. Enjoy!
Summer Holiday Bucket List
Need a little challenge to keep some excitement running throughout the summer break; why not set a challenge to complete all of these. If not here are a few extra ideas to keep your little ones entertained. Lots of different scavenger hunts on my website, why not take a look? 🌞🌧️💡
More Summer Fun
A few more holiday ideas to keep the little ones busy. Recipe for the ice cream, bubble painting and Scavenger Hunt are all on my fb page, but easier to locate on the website. Keep it fun!
Flower Printing
Beautiful way of printing using toilet rolls. Lots of colour, lots of opportunity to be creative and an opportunity to discuss the seasons.
Pasta Necklace
Busy weekend, so re-sharing an older post. Lovely activity to share and very simple. Be creative!
Bubblewrap Painting & Leaf Printing
A interesting activity which my children really enjoyed. We painted the bubble wrap, using a cup to create the circular shape. We then cut it out, stuck it on our paper and then leaf printed the petals around the bubble wrap. Effective, interesting and engaging 🍃🎨🌼
Bubble Painting
Glorious day ahead and a wonderful opportunity to be outside. So why not fill some time with bubble painting. Creative, fun and enjoyable. Washing up liquid works just as well if you don't have any bubble solution. Enjoy your day!
Keep It Simple!
Looking for something to do over the weekend, then why not keep it simple. Enjoy!
Monster Making
A simple, fun activity which incorporates a little look at numbers. Talk about the numbers, practise writing them, draw the facial features that match the amount. And of course, add lots of colour!
Mother's Day Cards
, I love this sort of creativity in a card and so do my children. Not only does it look wonderful, I love how the children can't wait to tell their mums, nans, just like a mum, just how they made it. I hope you all give it a go, a very rewarding activity.
Ostrich Faces
Such fun, creative and a great fine motor activity. Simple set up; pencils and a piece of paper. Here are a few of my Year one's Ostrich faces ♥️
Moon Sand
Moon sand is given it's name because of it's crumbly texture and how similar it looks to the surface of the moon. It can be moulded and shaped making it a fabulous for open ended play. A wonderful sensory activity, great for developing fine motor skills
Roll and Do!
nternational Dinosaur Day is next week on the 21st May. So over the next couple of days I'm going post a few ideas in case you like to join in the fun. With this gross motor activity, simply roll the dice and copy the action.
FREE TEMPLATE on my website. Give it a go and enjoy! 🦕🦕🦕

Holiday Fun
It's very easy to run out of ideas over the holidays, so here are a few ideas that you could try. Enjoy!
Leaf People
We really enjoyed making these and we used them for imaginative play. Encouraging speech and language and developing confidence with our quieter children. You don't have to paint the cardboard tubes and decorate using whatever you have. Enjoy!
Vase & Flowers
An easy make and something that could be staggered over two days. I painted the toilet rolls on the first day and then made the flowers to complete the activity on the second. I used balsa wood for my stems and the children wound pipe cleaners around them, as they still need to improve their fine motor skills. Lolly sticks or even sticks fton the garden work just as well. Lots of fine motor opportunity, lots of creativity, enjoy!
Emoji Maps
Here's another way to use yesterday's emotion pebbles. Use them to identify areas around school or wherever you are, that may trigger different emotions. Lunch halls and playgrounds can often be areas where children suffer in silence. Using the stones is an opportunity to talk about why these areas are of concern and how potentially these concerns can be addressed. A great opportunity to develop emotional vocabulary and to help settle and reassure children. Also a great way to introduce maps 💜
Emoji Stones
It's not always easy for children to talk about emotions and how they are feeling, especially at the beginning of a new school year. But these stones allow children to express how they are feeling without having to say the words. Hopefully they initiate understanding and open the door to conversation 💜
Nature Eggs
A beautiful way to be creative with the wonderful things you find outddors.
Weaving Eggs
Wonderful fine motor activily and wonderful to be creative with outdoor treasure.
Father's Day
Great little card and very easy to create!
Father's Day Cards
What better way to use up an old jigsaw! A lovely Father's Day card which offers lots of fine motor practise and one which can be produced by most ages. My children really enjoyed making this card, why don't you give it a go!
